Job Summary
Research assistant to work on polymer synthesis, materials characterization, and data analysis. Assist to manage research activities in the group.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Synthesis and functionalization of commodity polymers.
- Characterize polymer morphology and property
- Prepare publications, proposals and oral and written reports.
- Travel to user facilities, national labs and national conferences.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in polymer science and engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, material science and engineering or closely related discipline. The candidate needs to have experience in polymer physics and engineering.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Solid fundamental knowledge in polymer physics and engineering.
- Ability to process and characterize polymer materials.
- The candidate is expected to be self-motivated and capable of working collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in one or more of the following experiment techniques would be preferred: chemical vapor deposition, fluorescence microscopy, polymer self-assembly and elastomer materials.
