Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Professional Programs the Psychologist provides a variety of psychological services in an outpatient, inpatient and residential setting. Provides evaluations of impaired professionals. Functions as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills to conduct psychological assessments using the standard assessment tools. Demonstrates the ability to complete assessments in a timely manner using hospital computers and dictation equipment. Psychologist needs the knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, referral sources and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.
Expectations
- Demonstrate the ability to provide therapy and assessments to patients within an outpatient, residential, and inpatient setting.
- Demonstrate the ability to complete a clinical interview and review information with patients, family members, and referral sources.
- Demonstrate the ability to conduct a psychological assessment with testing, and to prepare a written psychological assessment report.
- Demonstrate the ability to conduct and complete an assessment on impaired professionals.
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate clinically with staff within various roles.
- Demonstrate the willingness and ability to actively participate in helping achieve the objectives of the department; able to work independently as well as with a team.
- Demonstrate the ability to complete all required trainings and/or certifications and attend all required meetings.
- Education/
Skills:
Ph.D. or Psy.
D. from accredited program required. - Work Experience: Preferred.
- Certification/Licensure: Required.
- State Licensing: Must be a Licensed Psychologist in Mississippi.
- Timeframe: X upon hire.
- Mental Demands: Must have high energy level, handle high-pressure situations, perform repetitive tasks, cooperate with others, take orders, follow directions, and demonstrate leadership and initiative.
