Security Analyst

Overview

Under the direct supervision of the IT Security Officer the Security Analyst has primary responsibility for daily computer security functions within Forrest General Hospital. The Security Analyst should possess skills in the areas of network operating systems and computer applications security functions. This position has the responsibility of analyzing, assigning, monitoring, and removing the appropriate security levels regarding employee and physician access to computer applications at Forrest General, and also conducts security audits to ensure that those who have access are the same people who are accessing our systems.

This position requires interaction with both internal and external contacts in the analysis, design and implementation stages of a project. This person also works directly with both hospital and vendor personnel. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with patients, families, visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs and other Forrest General Hospital personnel by exhibiting the Forrest General Way.

Performance expectations will be covered in the orientation and preceptor phases of your orientation to your job.

• Demonstrate the technical aptitude for supporting Electronic Medical Record by achieving and maintaining certifications including but not limited to attending assigned classes, achieving passing scores for all tests and projects.
• Demonstrate the aptitude for including proper and timely documentation when creating, updating and closing a help desk ticket and/or task.
• Demonstrate technical aptitude for maintaining the security on all files and systems.
• Demonstrate technical aptitude for maintaining the security in Active Directory for all groups and email.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory

Education/Skills

Two year Associates or four year Bachelor’s degree in computer science, decision science, accounting, or business with courses in systems analysis and data processing is desired or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in computer related software / hardware with communications between multiple platforms.

Obtained based on the required timeframe below

• Epic Security Coordination Module Certification Within 1 Year of Employment

Ability to be self-reliant. Must have verbal and written ability to communicate oral and written assignments to others. Ability to make judgmental decisions in an efficient and timely manner. Ability to understand and analyze oral and written statements concerning a variety of business and technical problems. Possess numerical ability and understand machine operations. Perform duties under various levels of stress and time restraints.
