The Director will be responsible for the efficient, accurate, complete, and timely preparation and review of tax returns for our Employee Benefit Services Practice client base. The individual will be expected to provide clients with practical and professional assistance in the complex area of employee benefit plan compliance and reporting.  

A knowledge of the related tax and accounting regulations effecting employee benefit plans is preferred. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Essential Duties:

Work closely with internal Partners, staff, and clients to satisfy the various compliance requirements for various employee benefit plans.

Prepare 5500 tax returns, and other employee benefit plan forms and the related reporting requirements.

Perform research on tax laws effecting employee benefit plans, prepare tax memorandums on technical topics, and identify potential tax savings strategies.

Oversee multiple clients, budgets, and production goals.

Maintain all aspects of client accounts and provide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations.

Understand and manage Firm risk on tax services performed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Mathematics, or equivalent field from an accredited college/university required.
6+ years of progressive experience in the tax employee benefits space.

Active CPA license, Enrolled Agent, ERPA, CEBS and other designations and/or certifications required.

Relevant experience working as a third-party administrator, public accounting, consulting, recordkeeper or for the IRS or Department of Labor (DOL).Strong working knowledge of IRS and ERISA regulations and experience with Voluntary Compliance Programs.

Strong accounting, tax, and analytical skills.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Additional hours during busy season may be required to meet client deliverables.

Compensation & Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000. Compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills, and certifications.  At PKFOD, we value our team members and are committed to their success and well-being.
