Medical Health Technician – TMS Therapy – Hauppauge, NY

This position will offer the opportunity to coordinate patient care with a breakthrough treatment modality called Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (“TMS”) for the treatment of depression.

The TMS Technician will be in charge administering patient care, educating prospective and existing patients regarding TMS treatment, and submitting prior authorization for treatment on behalf of patients. The TMS Technician will be trained and certified to administer in-office treatments under the direction of our treating physician.

The TMS Technician position is perfect for an individual who desires to make a difference in patient care with a breakthrough medical device for the treatment of depression. Health care experience is preferred but not required. The most important skill is communicating with patients and making them feel comfortable and safe. Strong attention to detail is required and the ability to follow a daily treatment checklist.

This individual needs to be able to respond effectively in an emergency situation for patient care, possess strong listening and communication skills, be attentive to detail, and have the willingness to learn the use of a medical technology.

• Health Care Clinical Professional experience preferred but not required
• Two or more years of related experience in a customer or patient-facing role

• Proficient in Microsoft Office with exposure to some data management software experience
• Experience addressing any patient’s medical conditions or symptoms, including basic life support certification
• Experience with operating a medical/mechanical device

• Coordinate patient schedules for TMS treatment.
• Provide support during treatment to patients struggling with depression or anxiety.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with patient comfort, coil contact, and TMS system setup throughout treatment.
• Administer psychiatric rating scales and help patients on completion of scales.
• Answer incoming calls to educate prospective and incoming patients regarding TMS treatment, collect payments, verify patient insurance.
• Schedule patients, coordinate new patient appointments and follow up visits.
• Administer TMS treatment based on specific Psychiatric Protocol (we provide all necessary training).
• Monitor all aspects of the patient experiences during patient care.
• Schedule and write patient notes in EMR system.
• Work with insurances on necessary prior authorization of treatment.
