General Purpose of the Job Develop, maintain goal plans related specifically towards addressing behaviors of individuals served under to supervision of a licensed Psychologist. Responsible for evaluation and testing individuals served and training of staff members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • INDIVIDUALS SERVED EVALUATION AND TESTING
    • Evaluate each individuals served based on the results of the appropriate tests.
    • Administer the appropriate tests on an annual basis to determine consumer’s needs. A full assessment will be completed and reviewed as part of the annual plan of care.
    • Triennial testing will be done on all individuals served according to guidelines of New York State triennial intelligence testing to establish I.Q. score.
  • DEVELOPMENT OF GOAL PLANS
    • Participate in the development of written, detailed, specific, and individualized program plans that:
    • Are designed to maximize each resident’s development and acquisition of skills in such areas as self-direction, emotional stability, and effective use of time.
    • The individualized plan of care must be specific as to measurable goals and objectives.
    • The plan must detail therapeutic steps and assign staff responsibilities.
    • The plan must set time frames for follow-up assessments of its effectiveness so that it may be modified as required.
    • Each program must be evaluated in behavioral measurable terms a minimal of monthly and quarterly.
    • Goal plans must meet state and federal guidelines/regulations.
  • INTERDISCIPLINARY TREATMENT TEAM MEMBER
    • Participate in weekly IDT meetings at each residence.
    • Participate in annual/interim meetings, special IDT meetings (as appropriate), and staff meetings.
  • STAFF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
    • Provide hands-on-training to direct support staff.
    • Conduct on-site and agency in-service training to staff at the discretion of the residence manager.
    • Review all treatment plans.
  • KNOWLEDGE OF ICF REGUALTIONS
    • Responsible for gaining knowledge of and assisting in implementation of all applicable regulations.
  • MAINTENANCE OF CONTACTS
    • Maintain contact with all psychological therapeutic personnel involved with the individuals, i.e., day programs, etc.
    • Maintain contact with and provide behavioral information/feedback to the psychiatric services provider when applicable.
  • SUPERVISION
  • Perform duties under the direct supervision of the Psychology Supervisor and the QIDP.

    Education and/or Experience

    Master's degree (M.

    A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    M.A. degree in Applied Psychology, from an accredited training program (including internship) e.g., school, clinical, counseling, and educational.

    Language Skills

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
