The Suffolk County Attorney’s Office is seeking to hire attorneys for its Federal Litigation Bureau.
Attorneys in the Federal Litigation Bureau handle the defense of federal civil lawsuits against the County, all County agencies, departments, officials, and employees. The County is looking for the most qualified candidates to join its ranks, with an objective of recruiting those with diverse backgrounds, a strong work ethic, integrity, and a commitment to public service.
The attorneys in the Federal Litigation Bureau appear regularly in federal court and litigate serious and complex matters. Representative cases include civil rights claims arising from line of duty actions involving County employees and typically claims against Suffolk County law enforcement. Successful candidates must have strong oral and written communication skills, excellent judgment, exceptional organizational abilities, strong legal research, writing, and presentation skills.

- Have experience handling civil defense litigation. Trial experience preferred.

Salary Range: $ to $ (Compensation is commensurate with experience)
Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
