Overview

The Contractor Consultants is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations for both union and non-union employees. In this role, you'll process weekly payroll through Timberline/Sage for up to 50 employees, manage certified payroll and union reporting, and ensure compliance with all tax and labor regulations. You'll balance technical accuracy with employee service in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities
  • Process weekly payroll for up to 50 employees (union and non-union) through Timberline/Sage.
  • Analyze and prepare payroll transactions including benefits, deductions, garnishments, levies, union dues, W-4s, child support, and unemployment.
  • Generate certified weekly payroll reports and monthly union reports.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end payroll reporting and closing procedures.
  • Maintain accurate employee, payroll, and union files.
  • Track employee vacation, sick time, and attendance.
  • Reconcile payroll and petty cash accounts.
  • Assist with accounts payable: enter invoices, maintain vendor records, and support weekly check runs.
  • Generate, sort, and code invoices for approval and distribution across job sites.
  • Respond to payroll inquiries, resolving discrepancies with accuracy and confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of payroll management experience in the construction industry.
  • Sage/Timberline payroll software experience - minimum 5 years required.
  • Strong knowledge of union reporting and certified payrolls.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable, contracts, and purchase orders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • In-depth understanding of payroll compliance, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Schedule
