Packaging Mechanic

Open Scientific is looking for experienced Packaging Mechanics. This role will have responsibility for repairing, reporting and making recommendations regarding machinery in the Production department. The ideal candidate will also take responsibility for their work area in order tohelp produce a safe environment.

• Perform set up and change overs of packaging lines
• Perform Preventive Maintenance of all machines in department
• Perform daily lubrication, cleaning and inspcection
• Record all work performed

• Must be flexible and able to work as needed, this includes overtime when necessary
• Must be able to work in a high speed packaging environment.
• Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Must be able to work 48 or more hours per week.
• Must have the ability to work on ladders reaching overhead.
• Must have knowledge of the accepted practices, processes, materials, and tools of the maintenance trades.
• Must have knowledge of electric motors, generators, conveyors, and other equipment and systems.
• Must have knowledge of the servicing and maintenance of simple power, heating, and cooling units.
• Must have the knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the building and maintenance trades.
• Must have the ability to do routine mechanical and Simple electrical maintenance and care for tools and equipment.
• Must be able to work with others and support other Mechanics.
• Must have the ability to maintain records regarding material, equipment, and repairs.
• Ability to legally work in the United States is required.
• Must be able to Read and Write in English

Essential Functions:

• Must be able to stand for 8-12 hours per day.
• Must be able to bend, stoop and squat as needed for housekeeping responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.

Preferred Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 2 years of experience in the mechanical or electrical trades preferred.
