Are you an experienced Estates, Building Surveying or Property professional looking for a varied role where you can take ownership of building condition, maintenance and improvement projects across a diverse property portfolio?

Principal People are recruiting for an Estates Manager to join an established organisation responsible for a portfolio of education sites across Portsmouth, Waterlooville, Chichester and Bognor Regis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience across building surveying, estates management, property maintenance or building projects who enjoys combining technical property knowledge with hands-on project delivery.

The successful Estates Manager will work across a varied portfolio, ranging from historic buildings to modern facilities. You will assess building condition, identify and prioritise maintenance requirements and manage a programme of repair, refurbishment and capital improvement projects from inception through to completion.

This is not a Health & Safety Advisor position. While an appropriate understanding of CDM and construction-related compliance is required, the core focus of the position is estates, buildings and project delivery.

Salary of approximately £44,000-£49,000, dependent on experience and applicable pay awards.
As the Estates Manager, you will be responsible for:

Undertaking building and condition surveys and identifying immediate, preventative and longer-term maintenance priorities.
Managing multiple building repair, maintenance, refurbishment and capital projects simultaneously.
Developing scopes and specifications for works and obtaining quotations.
Managing contractors, consultants and other external partners.
Monitoring project costs, quality, timescales and delivery against agreed objectives.
Producing technical reports and recommendations following surveys and inspections.
Reviewing third-party condition surveys and specialist consultant reports.
Advising internal stakeholders on building condition, maintenance requirements and appropriate technical solutions.
Helping prioritise estates expenditure according to condition, risk, operational requirements and available funding.
Ensuring building works are delivered with appropriate consideration of building regulations, statutory requirements, CDM and relevant codes of practice.
Managing competing priorities across multiple sites and responding effectively to changing operational requirements.
