Youth Development Mentor (SEMH & Sports Coaching) - Havant

Prospero Teaching is proud to be working with a specialist SEMH secondary school in Havant, and we're seeking passionate, kind-hearted Youth Development Mentors with a strong interest in sports coaching to join their supportive team.

This isn't just a job-it's an opportunity to be a lifeline for young people navigating emotional and behavioural challenges. You'll be the person who listens, encourages, and helps them build confidence and resilience, both in the classroom and through sport.

Location: Havant

Start Date: January 2026

Pay: From 13.96/hr

Contract: Long Term / Permanent

• People with firsthand experience of SEN/SEMH

If you're calm under pressure, great at building trust, and passionate about using sport to inspire young people, this could be the perfect fit.

• Supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
• Delivering and assisting with sports and physical education sessions
• Helping manage behaviour with empathy and consistency
• Building strong, respectful relationships with students and staff
• Encouraging personal growth, emotional regulation, and academic engagement

• A caring, patient, and adaptable approach
• Experience with SEMH / SEN or communication challenges is a bonus
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindseti>
• A commitment to helping students succeed-no matter what

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply)
• Professional references covering the last 24 months
