SEN Teaching Assistants
Prospero Teaching is recruiting experienced and passionate Teaching Assistants to join a dedicated SEN school in Emsworth. The specialist school provides high‑quality education and care for students aged 11‑16 with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive.
As a successful candidate you will play a key role in supporting pupils academically and socially, working alongside a committed team to deliver a nurturing, pupil‑centred learning experience.
While prior experience in a school or SEN setting is advantageous, it is not essential. The school offers ongoing training and professional development for the right candidate with the right attitude.

Hours:
Full‑time, Monday to Friday
Pay Rate:
From GBP 11.20 per hour
- Support students with Moderate Learning Difficulties in the classroom
- Assist with learning activities, engagement, and behaviour management
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- Support students’ emotional, social, and personal development
- Provide personal care support where required
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant (SEN experience desirable but not essential)
- Passion for supporting children with ASD, Aspergers, and complex needs
- Proactive, enthusiastic, and able to engage students effectively
- Positive, patient, and caring attitude
- Willingness to participate in classroom activities
- Comfortable supporting with personal care needs
- Right to work in the UK
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply
- Provide two professional references, preferably child-related
- Access to free accredited CPD courses, including safeguarding and behaviour management
- Ongoing support from an in‑house Training and Development Team
- Opportunity to secure a long‑term or permanent role
