English Tutor - Havant

Help Young People Build Confidence in English

We're looking for an English Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 support to children and young people across Havant and the surrounding Hampshire area.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support learners who require alternative educational provision, helping them develop their reading, writing, communication, and comprehension skills. Many of the students we work with have faced challenges that have affected their education, so tutors play a vital role in rebuilding confidence and encouraging engagement with learning.

Whether you're supporting a primary learner with literacy development or a secondary student working towards qualifications, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through personalised tuition.

Requirements
  • Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles
  • Strong English subject knowledge
  • Ability to deliver engaging and personalised lessons
  • Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within the Havant area
Who You'll Support

You'll work with children and young people who may have:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety and school avoidance
  • EHCPs and additional educational needs

Each learner receives individualised support designed to help them progress academically while developing confidence and independence.
