  • Ensuring all electrical designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Supporting the commissioning, testing and maintenance of electrical systems, motors and motor control equipment.
  • Carrying out fault-finding activities and implementing practical engineering solutions.
  • Providing technical support during product development, production and customer installations.
  • Preparing technical documentation, user manuals and maintenance information.
  • Working closely with Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, Project Management and customers to deliver projects on time and to specification.
  • Occasionally travelling to customer sites to support commissioning, fault diagnosis and technical investigations.
About You

We're looking for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and seeing projects through from concept to completion.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in an Electrical Design Engineer role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong experience designing AC and DC electrical circuits.
  • The ability to produce and interpret detailed electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Experience using EPLAN and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent fault-finding skills and a logical, methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Experience with electric motors, switching circuits and motor controllers.
  • The ability to manage your own workload and communicate effectively with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
  • A willingness to travel occasionally for commissioning and technical support activities.
Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous:

  • Control systems and PLC programming, particularly Siemens PLCs.
  • Code Sys 3.5.
  • CAN bus communication systems, including CANopen or NMEA
    2000.
  • Hydraulic systems.
  • Functional Safety and design risk assessments, including SIL principles.
  • Developing products for harsh operating environments.
  • Knowledge of product certification and industry compliance standards.
  • Experience working within marine, automotive, defence, industrial automation or other regulated engineering sectors.
What's on Offer?
  • Join an established engineering business with a strong reputation for innovation and quality.
  • Work on technically challenging products throughout the complete product development lifecycle.
  • Be part of a collaborative, supportive engineering team where your ideas are valued.
  • Genuine opportunities for technical development and career progression.
  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience, plus an attractive benefits package.

If you're an Electrical Design Engineer looking to work on innovative engineering projects within a growing and respected manufacturing business, we'd love to hear from you.
