The Role:

The Facilities Manager is responsible for leading Horizon Leisure’s estate and asset management approach, ensuring that our buildings, infrastructure, plant and equipment are maintained, optimised and strategically developed to support operational excellence, customer experience and long-term sustainability.

The role provides leadership across planned and reactive maintenance, asset lifecycle management, contractor performance, and capital investment planning across Horizon’s leisure centres and wellbeing facilities.

Working closely with the Head of Operations, the Facilities Manager will develop and deliver a structured approach to estate management that ensures facilities remain safe, compliant, financially sustainable and fit for the future.

This role works in collaboration with the Health & Safety Manager to ensure the estate supports Horizon’s wider compliance and risk management framework.

We are looking for a Facilities Manager to join us in transforming our business from 'good' to 'great'! This is a thrilling time for our company, and we need a key team member like you to help us achieve unprecedented success.

The main focus of the role will be to:
  • Lead the development and delivery of Horizon Leisure’s Asset Management Strategy across all operational sites.
  • Develop and maintain a rolling 5-year Asset Management and Lifecycle Strategy covering all property, plant and equipment.
  • Ensure lifecycle planning informs long-term estate sustainability and operational performance.
  • Work collaboratively with Havant Borough Council on lifecycle planning, capital investment and estate improvements.
  • Produce an annual capital prioritisation plan informed by condition surveys, lifecycle data and operational risk assessments.
  • Identify and develop invest-to-save opportunities, including plant upgrades, infrastructure improvements and energy efficiency projects.
  • Lead the delivery of capital improvement projects ensuring delivery on time, within budget and aligned to operational needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the Health & Safety Manager to ensure building infrastructure supports the organisation’s health and safety framework.
  • Maintain oversight of property, infrastructure and facilities-related risks within the organisational risk register.
  • Ensure all building systems and infrastructure are maintained in accordance with relevant regulations, standards and best practice.

Qualifications:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (desirable) or relevant facilities qualification.
  • Facilities management qualification (e.g. IWFM, IOSH, or equivalent) desirable.
  • Project management training or experience desirable.
