About This Role
We are looking for a Trustee with relevant heritage experience. We welcome applications from people who may have experience in the Arts, communications, funding; however heritage sector knowledge & experience will fill a gap in our Board which we are looking to fill.

Key Trustee Responsibilities- Guardians of
Purpose:
Trustees ensure the organization stays true to its charitable aims and vision. - Strategic Planning:
Shape the long‑term direction, set goals, and define the policies that guide the organization’s growth and impact. - Critical Friend:
Support the Chief Executive and staff while challenging them to perform effectively.
We seek to appoint an experienced individual to join our Board who has experience of Museums, Heritage centres and / or programmes. We are looking for an individual with at least three years’ experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Museums / Heritage sector
- Strategic development and planning
- Project / programme management
- Advice / Advocacy
We are looking for someone with a strong strategic approach to heritage, who is keen to support The Spring to develop its heritage programme and grow new and intergenerational audiences for this area of work, and offer advice and guidance to the Executive team.
Hybrid PositionWe hope to receive applications from all walks of life and across The Spring’s area of operation and surrounding areas.
What Will You Be Doing?We would welcome your input at Board meetings, and would like you to participate actively in discussions and decision‑making, supporting board colleagues by exercising independent judgement. You will contribute to the development and oversight of The Spring’s strategy, take an interest in effective governance oversight, including financial stewardship, risk management and regulatory compliance. Trustees are invited to act as an ambassador and advocate for The Spring, helping to raise its profile and influence.
In all interactions with The Spring staff, customers and other trustees, you champion high standards of integrity, transparency and accountability across the organization.
