CNC Setter/Operator - Turning

Havant, Hampshire

Double Days: £14.01 per hour + 18% shift allowance (£16.53 per hour equivalent) | £32,228 per annum

Permanent Nights: £14.01 per hour + 30% shift allowance (£18.21 per hour equivalent) | £37,877 per annum

Shift Patterns Double Days (37.5 hours per week)

Week 1: 06:00 - 14:00

Week 2: 14:00 - 22:00

Permanent Nights (40 hours per week, paid breaks included)

Monday to Friday

22:00 - 06:00

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Havant. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern machining environment producing high-quality precision components. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating multi-axis CNC turning machinery, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and customer specifications are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set and operate CNC turning machines.
  • Perform tooling changes, offset adjustments and programme edits as required.
  • Produce components to tight tolerances and exacting quality standards.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Carry out first-off and in-process inspections.
  • Use a range of measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety.
  • Support continuous improvement activities within the manufacturing team.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Previous experience setting and operating CNC turning machines.
  • Experience with in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of tooling, offsets and programme adjustments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers and gauges.
  • Ability to work to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Multi-axis CNC machining experience would be advantageous.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn, with machine-specific training provided where required.
