Ensure that all structural and civil works are carried out in accordance with the contract scope, specifications, drawings and industry standards. Support the project delivery teams in the production of Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) and quality control checklists. Monitor project delivery teams’ quality control activities and conduct independent checks to ensure the required build quality is achieved. Coordinate with the NEC Supervisor regarding witnessing of tests and inspections.
Responsibilities- Assist with development and review of Inspection and Test Plans (ITP)
- Oversee approval process for materials and products; ensure compliance with Regulation 31 of The Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2016.
- Develop quality forms and checklists to facilitate appropriate quality checks of all construction works including concrete, civil and pipeline construction.
- Monitor project delivery teams’ quality control activities and conduct independent checks to ensure the required build quality is achieved.
- Ensure timely witnessing and, if required, acceptance by the client of work stages on site to keep works on programme and maintain evidence of witnessing/acceptance.
- Monitor and measure completion of all tests and inspections and production of associated records in line with Inspection and Test Plans.
- Manage quality records and issue them to the client.
- Liaise with designers, client, client’s representatives, including the Construction Engineer on all aspects of works quality.
- Review designs as they progress from concept to detailed design to ensure constructability to required quality.
- Work with project management and engineering staff to improve on-site work quality, suggest improvements on daily activities to maximise production while maintaining highest quality.
- Manage test results and issue to relevant parties.
- Pro‑active approach to, and management of, non‑conformance issues and client‑raised defects.
- Experience producing and meeting requirements of Inspection and Test Plans.
- Knowledge of construction techniques in particular water projects (desirable).
- Excellent record‑keeping and data management skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to discuss technical aspects with technical and non‑technical individuals.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Experience of large complex construction projects.
- Experience of structural concrete and road construction.
- Experience with CDE and construction management software such as Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- CSCS card – Manager or Academically Qualified.
- Full driving licence.
- Qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction (e.g., Degree/HNC or similar).
