Role summaryAs a Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in identifying, developing and winning new business opportunities. The role requires a strategic thinker with strong networking skills and a deep understanding of what it takes to be successful in selling digital solutions. As a motivated and dynamic BDM, this is your chance to join our growing team and help us expand our presence in the UK market.
What will be my day-to-day responsibilities?Lead Generation & Prospecting:
- Identify and target potential clients through research, networking, and outreach.
- Work closely with colleagues in Marketing and Sales Development to build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and prospects’ needs to inform business strategies.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:
- Develop tailored proposals and deliver dynamic presentations to prospective clients.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals to exceed revenue targets.
- Maintain long-term relationships with clients to grow ongoing business.
- Work closely with internal teams (design, development, delivery) to ensure we delight our clients.
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, pipeline status, and market insights.
- At least 5 years proven experience in business development within a digital agency or related industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport quickly.
- Self-motivated and goal-orientated, with a passion to succeed in a sales environment and able to work independently.
- Proven track record of new business wins and increasing revenue growth.
- Demonstrable strategic and business vision.
- Well organised and able to deliver accurate and concise information and reporting.
- Strongly capable with internal systems (MS Office, CRM etc).
- The freedom to travel, as required, to client offices and to our HQ in Havant, Hampshire (mandatory when required).
- Experience with Hubspot.
- Experience selling custom software solutions.
- Knowledge of emerging digital trends and technologies (AI for example).
