These positions are in support of MCAS Cherry Point, either on base with military members and their families or in local schools with high populations of military children.

• Provides the full breadth of MFLC consultation and counseling services to the command structure and military service members and their families at military installations, including non-medical, short-term, walk-around counseling, training/health and wellness presentations, and consultation to installation command regarding behavioral health issues.
• Works with Regional Supervisor/Regional Director, installation and POC to ensure program scope and needs are met.
• Delivers non-medical, short-term, solution-focused, walk-around counseling directly to eligible service members and family members; includes assessment, brief counseling, action planning, referrals, linkage, and follow-up.
• Delivers training and health and wellness presentations; participates in health fairs and base activities.
• Enters counselor activity data daily to ensure accurate reporting while maintaining client confidentiality.
• Maintains relationships with community resources and provides linkages; collaborates with POC to address installation needs.
• Provides MFLC response to critical incidents, surge, on-demand events, and special requests as directed by the POC and approved by the OSD program manager; flexes schedule as needed.
• Manages duty to warn and restricted reporting per DoD protocol; documents cases with Regional Supervisor/Regional Director.
• Participates in supervision, in-services, quality improvement activities, and contract-related initiatives.
• Engages in pilot programs, training, and documentation; utilizes applicable technology to complete activities.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Master’s degree in a mental health-related field (e.g., social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy, counseling).
• Valid unrestricted independent counseling license to practice as an independent practitioner (state/DC/territory).
• Minimum 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience.
• Intermediate-level competencies with technology and software (Microsoft Suite, internet, mobile apps, videoconferencing).
• Ability to engage with military members or children, respond to emergent situations on a military installation or in a school setting; ability to travel as needed; may require immunizations per site requirements.
• US Citizenship; fluent in English.
• Ability to work with diverse populations; develop trusting relationships.
• Clearance requirements:
  National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI), Installation Records Check (IRC), Criminal Background Check, FBI fingerprints.
• Vehicle operator’s license requirement; may require military vehicle operator permit for TDY locations if required.
