Summary
Store Workers serve in one or more commissary store departments (e.g., grocery, produce, warehouse, etc.) performing a variety of duties involved in receiving, handling, marking, preparing, displaying, and maintaining the stock of resale items.
Overview
Open: 10/24/2025 – 01/25/2026
Salary: $19.79 to $23.34 per hour, NTE 48‑64 hours biweekly.
Duties
- Maintaining adequate stock of resale items.
- Identifying any obvious spoilage, damage, and out‑of‑date merchandise.
- Receiving supplies, equipment and resale items.
- Operating a computer system that calculates and marks prices, and determines weights of merchandise.
- Transporting items to shelving and display areas.
Conditions of Employment
- Be a U.S. citizen or national. Applicants with a Permanent Resident Card are authorized to live and work in the U.S. but are not eligible for employment in positions requiring U.S. citizenship. If selected, proof of citizenship is required.

Qualifications
- You must meet qualifications and requirements by the closing date.
- Examples of related/qualifying experience:
- Ensuring the proper care and handling of resale grocery items.
- Locating items for customers.
- Rotating stock, stacking containers, and participating in inventories.
- Operating a computer system to calculate prices and label merchandise.
- Arranging stock on shelves and in displays.
- You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations.
- Physical requirements:
continuously walk, stand, bend, stoop, stretch, and reach; lift up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance. - The job has one critical element (screen‑out element) and additional job elements:
- Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision.
- Dexterity and safety.
- Work practices.
- Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc.
- Knowledge of materials.
- Technical practice.
