Overview

We are recruiting a motivated Consultant in Respiratory to join a dynamic general medicine service within the Health Board, supporting the Welsh Government's vision for NHS Wales. The appointment will join an established team of medical consultants covering Pembrokeshire and will have support to develop or maintain a specialist interest.
Main duties of the job
- To provide, with consultant colleagues (as appropriate), a service in General Medicine and support the development of a sub-specialty interest for the hospital and community, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness.
- All clinical staff are accountable for their own clinical competence and should limit their actions to those for which they are competent. Clinical staff are also required to comply with the requirements of their professional organisation regarding supervision.
- As a senior employee of the Health Board, the post holder will work in close cooperation with and support other clinical, medical, professional and managerial colleagues in providing high-quality healthcare to the Health Board’s patients.

Person Specification
Essential
- Full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council.
- On the GMC Specialist Register (including via Portfolio Pathway (CESR)/European Community Rights) or will have CCT due within six months of interview date.
- Valid Certified Advanced Life Support.
- Where a sub-specialty interest is required, sub-specialty training should be at a level appropriate for UK consultant sub-specialist practice - fellowship or equivalent level experience.

- Additional Higher qualification(s).
Essential
- Broad-based experience within the specialty area.
- Able to demonstrate core competencies and clinical skills relevant to the post.
- Experience of leading a team.
