Sports & Public Services Lecturer
Join to apply for the Sports & Public Services Lecturer role at Pembrokeshire College.
Salary Details- Scale ASL1 - 4 (currently £26,386 - £31,139 pro rata) - without teaching qualification.
- MG1 - UP1 (currently £33,596 - £48,288 pro rata) - with teaching qualification.
- Opportunity to progress onto a further scale.
- UP2-UP3 (currently £50,079 - £51,932 pro rata).
- Salary:
Fixed-term, 0.7 FTE, until 30/06/2026. - Approx. 26 working hours per week / 584.5 annual teaching hours.
- Hours to be worked over 4 days per week (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri).
- Hold a relevant degree in Protective Services, Sport, Physical Education, or a related qualification.
- If you do not hold a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE), you will be required to undertake and achieve a PGCE within a specified timescale. The PGCE will be fully funded and you will be given appropriate time to attend the in‑house course.
- Sports Massage qualification is highly desirable.
You will have knowledge of specialist subject areas and ideally previous experience of teaching/coaching or lecturing, with the ability to plan and deliver theoretical and practical teaching sessions within the curriculum areas. You will teach on a range of courses:
- L3 Extended Diploma Sport
- Unit E:
Research Project in Sport - Unit 7:
Functional Sport Massage - Unit 10:
Technical and Tactical - Unit 12:
Practical Sport Application - Unit 14:
