Training Adviser fixed term to 31/03/2026

Futureworks delivers skills and employment programmes in Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion. We are recruiting a Training Adviser to join our team to deliver our Jobs Growth Wales+ programme and support our work with Schools. The role includes the delivery of qualifications in wellbeing, life skills and employability.

You will work mostly with learners aged 14‑19 years and deliver positive and engaging learning sessions, supporting young people to be the best they can be. The programme aims to provide a mixture of universal and targeted work, delivering a range of positive activities with personal, social and political development embedded in the programme.

You will create an empowering, non‑judgemental, positive and welcoming atmosphere within Futureworks, emphasising self‑determination and assisting young people to make plans and decisions and to accept responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit young people to the programme
  • Retain young people on the programme for the period of their learning
  • Achieve positive outcomes into work, further learning and volunteering
Ideally You Will
  • Have experience in delivering learning and positive interventions to young people who are NEET or at risk of falling out of education
  • Have experience of managing challenging behaviours
  • Think on your feet and easily adapt to a variety of situations
  • Be engaging, learner‑centred and be an excellent communicator
  • Be able to deliver tailored interventions and creative schemes of work
  • Write lesson plans, report on learner's progress and assess risk
  • Be able to work effectively with employers and industry to progress young people into work placements and work
  • Have excellent administrative and organisational skills to ensure compliance with contractual documentation requirements and effective delivery against commissioned contracts
  • Hold or be willing to work towards a teaching qualification and assessors award
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment and understanding of Safeguarding and PREVENT

You will be required to register with the Education Workforce Council as a Work‑based learning practitioner.
