Tutor in Motor VehicleHours of Work:
Part Time - 0.4 FTE
We welcome applications from those who are interested in fewer hours.
Contract TypeSalaried - Fixed until 31st July 2027
Holiday Entitlement28 days pro rata (increasing to 32 days for 5 years + service) plus 8 Bank Holidays & College closure days per annum
QualificationsWhat We're Looking For
You will ideally have:
- A Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
However, we will also consider applicants who have:
- A Level 2 qualification together with significant recent industry experience
- Most importantly, you'll have current automotive industry knowledge, good practical skills, and the enthusiasm to help others develop their own careers.
If you do not currently hold a teaching qualification such as the Award in Education and Training (AET), we'll support you to gain this during your employment.
Many of our staff have successfully moved from industry into education, and we'll provide guidance and development opportunities to help you succeed in your new role.
What You'll Be DoingDepending on your qualifications and experience, you may:
- Deliver practical demonstrations and training within our workshops
- Support learners in developing hands-on technical skills
- Deliver classroom-based theory sessions
- Provide one-to-one guidance, coaching and encouragement
- Help learners build confidence and achieve their qualifications
- Maintain a safe, professional and inclusive learning environment
- Promote high standards of workshop practice and health and safety
