Lecturer in Catering
Salary Details: ALS1 - ALS4 (currently £26,386 - £31,139 pro rata) without teaching qualification
MG1 - UP1 (currently £33,596 - £48,288 pro rata) with teaching qualification
Opportunity to progress onto a further scale
UP2-UP3 (currently £50,079 - £51,932 pro rata)

Holiday Entitlement
: 46 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays & college efficiency closures pro-rata
Qualifications:
- Relevant Level 3 or above qualification in Professional Cookery/Culinary Arts or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Appropriate food safety qualification and sound knowledge of food safety, allergens, HACCP and relevant legislation.
- The successful candidate will hold a recognised post-16 teaching qualification, such as the level 5 diploma in teaching (FE and Skills), PCE/PCET, PGCE (PCET) or equivalent, candidates who do not hold a formal teaching qualification will be considered where they can demonstrate relevant teaching, training, coaching or mentoring experience and the ability to deliver effective learning in a vocational setting.
If you do not already hold a recognised teaching qualification (such as a PGCE), Pembrokeshire College will fully fund and support you to achieve one. You will be given dedicated time to attend our in-house PGCE programme and receive ongoing support throughout your training.
Experience:
The successful candidate will have recent professional experience within the hospitality and catering industry, with experience of working in a professional kitchen, ideally including responsibility for food preparation, production, quality and kitchen standards.
The successful candidate will also have demonstrable knowledge and practical experience in the skills, techniques and underpinning knowledge required for Level 3 Professional Cookery. The successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to plan and deliver effective learning activities for FE learners, including practical and theoretical sessions, assess practical and theoretical work accurately against qualification requirements and provide effective feedback.
