Join a supportive team in beautiful PembrokeshireWe are looking for a fun, hardworking, dedicated and caring Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our established nursing team from April 2026 onwards. This role is primarily based at our Haverfordwest practice, with some working at our Fishguard and St David’s branches.
You will be led by our Head Nurse and supported by an experienced, collaborative nursing team within a friendly, community-focused practice.
Role detailsThis is a varied and hands‑on nursing role where you will be fully utilised and encouraged to develop your skills across all areas of practice nursing.
Your responsibilities will include:- Nursing care of hospitalised in‑patients and day patients
- Monitoring anaesthesia, Schedule 3 experience advantageous
- Supporting veterinary surgeons during surgery and procedures
- Assisting vets within consultations as required
- Running nurse clinics and wellness screenings, including weight management, senior advice, dietary advice and puppy and kitten clinics
- Carrying out procedures such as nail clipping, anal gland expression and dental checks
- Administering medications and vaccinations under veterinary direction
- Using and maintaining anaesthetic and monitoring equipment
- Laboratory work including Idexx machines and microscopy
- Stock control, infection control and equipment maintenance
- Overseeing and supporting our three student nurses, Clinical Coach experience desirable
- Assisting with house visits where required
- Supporting practice marketing initiatives
- Adhering to health and safety procedures and assisting with waste management and drug disposal
This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to budgeting processes, equipment maintenance planning and day‑to‑day problem solving alongside the Head Nurse.
Rota patterns that work for youWe care about work‑life balance and do our best to ensure your needs are met.
The standard pattern is 37.5 hours across five days between 8.00 am and 7.00 pm on a shared rota basis within the nursing team, plus Saturdays on a shared rota covered equally.
We provide alternative Out of Hours services, though we may continue in‑patient care on a case‑by‑case basis to support our veterinary team.
Flexible working is encouraged and job share applications will be considered depending on business needs.
About our practiceWe are based in beautiful Pembrokeshire, surrounded by stunning coastline and countryside.
Our main Haverfordwest practice is due to undergo a property redevelopment programme during 2026 and offers:

Our Fishguard branch offers surgical and laboratory facilities, alongside hydrotherapy and physiotherapy services delivered by our full‑time Rehab Co‑ordinator. Clients also benefit from access to an aquatic treadmill for hydrotherapy. We provide laser and acupuncture services across sites.
We are proud to have an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery within the team, allowing us to carry out orthopaedic and complex soft tissue procedures in house.
