Maintenance Engineer

An established Chemical manufacturing site is looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to support the reliability and safe operation of plant and facilities.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for maintaining production and site equipment through a mix of preventative and breakdown maintenance. The role requires a hands-on engineer with both mechanical and electrical capability.

Key Engineer Duties

• Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across plant and utilities

• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults

• Carry out electrical tasks including panel work, wiring, and fault tracing

• Operate safely in ATEX and hazardous areas, following site procedures

• Complete risk assessments, permits, and maintenance records

• Coordinate with production teams and external contractors

• Support equipment improvement and reliability activities

Essential Experience & Skills

• Proven experience in a mechanical and electrical maintenance role

• Background in ATEX, chemical, or high-risk manufacturing environments

• Electrical competence including wiring and troubleshooting

• Strong understanding of health, safety, and compliance requirements

• Confident using general engineering tools and equipment

• Basic IT literacy for maintenance systems

Desirable Experience

• Experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, or process industries

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics

• Familiarity with AutoCAD
