** Job Summary**##
** About the Role
** We are looking for an experienced Chemical Engineer to join our Haverhill team, specialising in reaction chemistry, process development, and vacuum distillation within a chemical manufacturing environment. You will play a key role in designing, optimising, and scaling up processes, while ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on environment, enjoys solving complex chemical engineering challenges, and is motivated by driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.##
** What You’ll Do
*** Design, optimise, and troubleshoot chemical processes with a focus on reaction chemistry and vacuum distillation.
* Lead technical projects, ensuring smooth and safe scale‑up from laboratory development to full‑scale manufacturing.
* Operate Siemens PCS7 control systems for automated process control, data acquisition, and batch management.
* Facilitate HAZOP, HAZID, and LOPA reviews for both new and existing processes.
* Implement and maintain robust process safety management systems aligned with regulatory and industry standards.
* Collaborate closely with R&D, Production, Maintenance, and EHS teams to drive performance and ensure compliance.
* Prepare and review process documentation including PFDs, P&IDs, SOPs, and risk assessments.
* Provide guidance and mentor junior engineers, supporting capability development within the team.##
** What You Bring
**** Essential Qualifications & Experience
*** Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in
** Chemical Engineering
** or related discipline.
* ** 5+ years’ experience
** in chemical manufacturing with clear expertise in process chemistry and vacuum distillation.
* Proven ability to lead
** HAZOP, HAZID, and LOPA
** assessments.
* Strong understanding of process safety management and regulatory expectations.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
** Desirable Skills
*** Experience in the Fragrance Ingredients industry.
* Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
* Familiarity with additional automation or control systems.
* Strong commitment to safety, sustainability, and responsible operations.
