As a Project Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities across assigned project scopes, ensuring materials, outsourced manufacturing, equipment and services are sourced and delivered in line with project requirements, schedules and budgets.

You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Manufacturing teams and suppliers to ensure procurement activities support successful project execution from initial sourcing through final delivery.

Essential Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Manage procurement activities for assigned project scopes.
  • Source materials, fabricated components, assemblies, outsourced manufacturing and vendor services.
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
  • Evaluate supplier quotations and support supplier selection decisions.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times and commercial terms with suppliers.
  • Create and manage purchase orders and supporting documentation.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Project Management and Manufacturing teams to validate requirements and ensure procurement alignment.
  • Monitor supplier performance and proactively manage delivery schedules.
  • Expedite critical orders and resolve supply or delivery issues.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records within ERP systems.
  • Support supplier development and qualification initiatives.
  • Identify supply chain risks and escalation issues when appropriate.
  • Prepare procurement status reports and communicate project updates to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to cost improvement and value engineering initiatives through effective sourcing and supplier negotiations.
Required -

Qualifications/Experience / Knowledge and

Skills:

  • Experience in a procurement, purchasing or supply chain role.
  • Experience with in a manufacturing, engineering, construction, industrial or project-based environment.
  • Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
  • Experience conducting competitive sourcing exercises and bid evaluations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Confidence working with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • The ability to balance project priorities, cost, quality and delivery requirements.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration.
Preferred -
  • Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related discipline.
  • CIPS qualification or working towards CIPS certification.
  • Experience purchasing fabricated components, engineered products, subcontract manufacturing or technical services.
  • Exposure to global supply chains and international sourcing.
