We’re looking for an enthusiastic, adaptable, team player who loves, values, and respects children to join our team for the 2024-25 school year. The ideal candidate will be excited about working with a small team and becoming part of our close-knit Montessori community.

Birch Tree offers an early education program serving children 2.9 - 6 years of age in two authentic Montessori classrooms. We seek to create a learning environment that moves fluidly between school, home, and community, providing children with daily opportunities for growth and learning.

Our school is made up of a diverse community designed to support children and their families both inside and outside of the classroom. Our team consists of nurturing educators who are trained and dedicated to Montessori practice and philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparing and maintaining beautiful and safe Montessori environments
  • Implementing and updating curriculum as student needs dictate
  • Planning, preparing, and maintaining all units of study throughout the year including practical life, sensorial, cultural, math, and language
  • Communicating with parents both verbally and in writing
  • Maintaining proper records of children's growth and needs
  • Working closely with and guiding classroom assistant(s)
Qualifications:
  • Montessori Certificate required (Either AMS or AMI at the Primary level)
  • 2-3 years of classroom experience preferred
  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude
  • Love and respect for children
  • Strong desire to be part of a team
  • MA State EEC teacher certification or willingness to work towards lead teacher certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Spanish language skills a plus
  • Basic computer skills
  • Associates degree or higher preferred
  • Ability to pass background record check
