Established in 1980, Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC) is a multi‑site, mission‑driven non‑profit organization serving the Merrimack Valley, and sponsors the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency program.

Medical Assistants interview patients, record medical history, confirm visit purpose, and support clinicians with patient care. Tasks include taking blood pressure, weight, temperature, and preparing patients for examination.

• Don appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform electrocardiography (EKG).
• Perform ear irrigations and throat cultures.
• Collect urinalysis samples.
• Conduct flu testing, glucose testing, and INR testing.
• Ensure all test results are documented in medical records.
• Determine equipment needs for visits and set up exam rooms.
• Assist clinicians with treatments and dressings.
• If certified, translate for providers as needed.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required; fluent in both spoken and written English. Completion of a medical interpreter course strongly recommended.
• Certified in CPR.
• Graduate of a medical assistant program.
