Registered Nurse Admissions – Haverhill Pavilion Behavioral Health
We are hiring Registered Nurse Admissions for PT Evenings. One day a week, every Monday, 8‑hour shifts, preferably evenings 3‑11, with flexibility.
Haverhill Pavilion Behavioral Health Hospital provides superior mental health services via a 50‑bed adult inpatient program and a 21‑bed geriatric inpatient program in Haverhill, MA.
Position OverviewAs an Admissions RN, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient admissions process for our patients. Your clinical expertise, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders will contribute to delivering high‑quality care.
Key Responsibilities- Review medical documentation for all admissions, complete medication reconciliation, and obtain admission orders from physicians.
- Facilitate emergency transfers for patients with medical conditions beyond our facility's capabilities.
- Review referrals, assess acuity and respond within designated time frames.
- Respond to inquiries about our facility and provide appropriate recommendations.
- Conduct assessments to determine appropriate level of care.
- Collaborate with medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure appropriate recommendations and admissions.
- Facilitate admissions process: assessment, consent, inventory of patient belongings.
- Perform insurance benefit verifications and secure initial pre‑authorization.
- Monitor patient status, follow facility policies and physician orders.
- Utilize web‑based programs to track and review referrals.
- Communicate projected admissions promptly to designated internal representatives.
- Ensure timely receipt of all clinical information.
- Schedule and complete pre‑admission assessments, consult with physicians, and communicate disposition recommendations.
- Prepare accurate medical record documentation for payor authorization.
- Admit patients to registration and accounting system, completing all necessary forms.
- Demonstrate a positive, empathetic attitude, prioritize safety, and address concerns promptly.
- Coordinate care for patients not admitted, ensuring follow‑up care and referrals.
- Conduct safety checks and provide supervision per guidelines.
- Minimum of an Associate's degree in Nursing.
- Minimum one year of experience working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity, preferably within relevant specialization.
- Clear and active nursing license in Massachusetts.
- CPR and de‑escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
- First aid certification may be required.
