OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineering Practitioner to support integrated defense systems implementing a holistic and interdisciplinary approach to design, integrate, and manage complex systems that protect assets from threats across various domains, including air, space, and cyberspace. The practitioner balances a system s cost, schedule, performance, and risk throughout its entire lifecycle—from concept development through deployment, sustainment, and retirement.
This involves translating high-level requirements from military and defense stakeholders into actionable technical specifications for specialized engineering teams and ensuring that all disparate subsystems, such as radar, communications, and weapons, work together seamlessly. Ultimately, the role is to ensure the delivered defense capability is resilient, effective, and dependable for the warfighter by managing the technical complexity and coordinating the efforts of diverse teams.

Develop, maintain, and assess system architectures using SysML or similar modeling languages to provide end-to-end traceability of system artifacts throughout the system lifecycle. - Requirements and architecture development:
Lead the creation of detailed system requirements, architectures, and design specifications using SysML and UML to represent system functionality, structure, behavior, and interfaces. - Modeling tool proficiency:
Utilize Magic Draw (or similar tools) to create, manage, and execute model-based engineering projects, ensuring consistency, version control, and data integrity. - Defense systems knowledge:
Apply a thorough understanding of the military s Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, Facilities, and Policy (DOTMLPF-P) framework to analyze, assess, and recommend improvements for defense systems and capabilities. - Stakeholder engagement:
Collaborate with program managers, engineers, logisticians, and military personnel to define and validate system models, ensuring alignment with operational needs and strategic objectives. - Documentation and reporting:
Develop and deliver comprehensive documentation, technical reports, and briefings to communicate architectural concepts, modeling results, and system analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Analysis and assessments:
Perform gap analysis, impact assessments, and trade studies using model-based methods to support decision-making and identify areas for system improvement. - Mentorship and guidance:
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on best practices for MBSE, SysML/UML modeling, and the application of engineering principles within a defense environment. - Process improvement:
Contribute to the development and enhancement of MBSE processes and methodologies within the organization to improve efficiency and system development quality. - Problem-solving:
Troubleshoot and resolve complex systems engineering challenges, using the model as a central source of truth to drive solutions.
