Commensurate with credentials and experience within guidelines set by the collective bargaining agreement.
This position will be responsible for teaching courses for the Biology program, with emphasis in courses related to the program’s Biomedical Sciences and Human Health Track, such as Anatomy and Physiology, Genetics, and Microbiology among other courses. The program is growing, and candidates that represent diverse areas of expertise in the biological sciences will be considered.
The successful candidates will prepare and teach labs required for scheduled courses, participate in an active undergraduate research program, and engage in scholarship and service activities. Additional duties include assisting with student recruitment, retention, and progression efforts.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesTeaching of core and elective courses in the Biology program, including laboratory instruction.
Development, evaluation and delivery of course materials and assignments.
Mentoring undergraduate students, particularly in research settings.
Participation in faculty service, curriculum development, and departmental responsibilities.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills- Doctorate required in an applicable field of Biology by August 1, 2026.
- Experience as the primary instructor for courses within the candidate’s area of expertise.
- Successful teaching experience at the college level.
- Evidence of scholarly activity.
- Incorporation of instructional technology into course delivery.
- Experience mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.
