Salary

Base pay range: $16.19/hr – $18.22/hr the starting salary reflects steps 1‑5 of an 11‑step pay schedule and will be determined by your education and relevant experience.

Position Summary

The Therapeutic Youth Mentor provides direct support, guidance, and mentoring to help youth develop coping skills, improve communication, and build positive relationships. The mentor serves as a role model, facilitates activities, and collaborates with team members to assist youth in reaching their goals.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills and engage a diverse group of participants.
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Exercise good judgment, teamwork, and professionalism, especially in crisis situations, and creatively find solutions.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, educators, community partners, and families to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for youth.
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Required Qualifications
  • 21 years old or older.
  • Successful completion of a criminal record and child‑abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license to operate a passenger vehicle.
Required Abilities and Skills
  • Build rapport with youth therapeutically and serve as a positive role model.
  • Maintain professional therapeutic boundaries and confidentiality.
  • Work with youth individually and in groups across multiple settings.
  • Collaborate effectively with the treatment team.
  • Perform one‑on‑one work with youth independently of other co‑workers.
  • Maintain regular, predictable, and reliable attendance.
  • Demonstrate excellent active‑listening skills.
  • Type at least 35 words per minute while using a keyboard and mouse; familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 is a plus.
  • Show sound, ethical judgment and decision‑making.
  • Display self‑motivation, self‑discipline, and forward thinking.
  • Prioritize team success over individual achievements.
  • Communicate effectively with others, building and maintaining relationships, resolving conflicts, and navigating social situations.
  • Demonstrate the following values:
