Minimum Qualifications- Completion of a Bachelor's Degree.
- Maximum of 3 years to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license after hire.
- Enrollment in a State Approved Teacher's Education Program (SATEP) if not yet licensed.
- Within each year of employment, demonstrate active pursuit toward meeting Hawaii licensing requirements set forth by the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board (HTSB).
- Upon hire, need a valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit.
If hired without completing a Teacher's Education Program, you must enroll in a Program to continue employment with the Department. You may apply for your Hawaii teaching license on the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board Website.
