As an ʻōiwi Hawaiʻi-serving elementary school, our music program is rooted in mele, oli, and the traditions of Hawaiian choral singing. We seek a music educator who honors and uplifts Hawaiʻi’s cultural practices, integrates ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi with intention, and understands the unique role that mele play in affirming identity, strengthening ea, and building lāhui.
In addition to having a Bachelor's degree (minimum) and prior experience with Elementary School age appropriate instructional strategies, candidates should also bring experience with, or a demonstrated commitment to learning, Hawaiian cultural foundations, values, and pedagogies, and be prepared to partner with our kumu to ensure that our keiki experience a vibrant, culturally grounded music education.
Additional Information- This is a Full Time, Regular position that will start at the beginning of our 26-27 School Year.
- Our teachers have a work year of 9.75 months.
- Compensation is determined by your highest degree earned and the number of FT years of teaching experience you have.
