the engineering technician will work with shipboard stakeholders to conduct installations, compile tempalt packages, conduct system operational verification testing (sovt), provide onsite and remote onboard technical troubleshooting support to designated subsurface platforms.
key responsibilities- perform a variety of complex technical functions in support of carry on program capabilities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of electronic systems.
- establish procedures for the maintenance of systems, laboratory equipment and facilities.
- support all efforts required to develop and compile a fully compliant and approved tempalt package including coordination of moa/mous and compiling data packages.
- perform on-site installation, troubleshooting, and testing of carry on products and equipment.
- provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.
- assist in training junior level electronics technicians and support staff to perform general fabrication, assembly, configuration, test and evaluation, and documentation tasks.
- establish procedures for the maintenance of laboratory facilities and equipment including cable diagrams, equipment schematics, and configurations to support various carry on system arrangements, and train personnel to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment.
- provide technical distance and on-site support to deployed u.s. Navy units.

filling this position is contingent upon funding
requirements- fifteen or more (15+) years' experience as an engineering technician providing technical support in the design, development, production and testing of shipboard systems.
- ten (10) years full-time hands‑on experience in installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or testing of any one major shipboard system/equipment.
- experience with subsurface carry on equipment.
- experience with tempalt data packages.
- experience with subsurface ship check protocols and processes.
src is a contractor for the u.s. Government, this position will require u.s. Citizenship as well as a u.s. Government security clearance at the top secret level.
travel requirements- periodic travel required.
