Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Provide consistent professional skin care treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices to male and female guests.
  • Develop an appropriate treatment plan based on the guest’s needs and requests. Do not provide medical advice.
  • Provide the highest level of customer satisfaction by listening and understanding guests’ needs and desires.
  • Maintain and expand the patronage of spa and salon by actively promoting/upselling additional treatments, services and retail products.
  • Maintain knowledge of other services and amenities of the property. Explain features and benefits of spa products, treatments and services to guests. Provide answers to pre-treatment and post-treatment questions.
  • Manage time efficiently to maintain a tight schedule, prepare for guests and execute all treatments. Monitor schedule to minimize delays.
  • Demonstrate respect, sensitivity and concern for guests’ needs in a professional manner. Maintain confidentiality according to department procedures and guidelines.
  • Follow proper draping procedures and Blood Borne Pathogen procedures at all times. Use computer systems to accurately enter information, chart and document each guest seen.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures; report potential safety issues to management and take immediate action in emergency situations. Wear PPE when required; PPE is provided by the hotel; report defective or ill-fitting PPE or equipment to the Manager.
  • Maintain compliance with the hotel’s Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) program and current MSDS; report unsafe conditions or maintenance needs to supervisor.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled; assist in room setup, sanitation procedures, inventory and linens guidelines; maintain cleanliness and restocking of treatment rooms.
  • Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority or refer to management; ensure guest communications comply with Spa and hotel standards.
  • Notify supervisor and/or Security of unusual events, inappropriate guest behavior, missing items, or alleged theft; safeguard guest safety during treatments.
  • Keep supervisor informed of problems, safety issues, adverse reactions, or unusual situations for prompt corrective action.
  • Coordinate with other departments to fulfill guest needs; attend training sessions to improve job knowledge; notify management of unsafe conditions and needed maintenance.
What you will bring
  • Diploma or certification as Esthetician required to obtain a license/permit in the state/county/city of the spa.
  • Three to five years of experience as a licensed Esthetician in a spa/hotel/med spa or resort environment is desired.
  • Must complete a skills assessment if conducted at the spa. Trained and certified in all basic skin care services. Able to perform all skin care treatments offered by the spa for both men and women.
  • Understand contraindications for specific facials and/or products. Maintain current Esthetician licenses/permits. Provide valid original copies as required.
  • Valid CPR certificate or willingness to obtain one may be required. Ability to serve guest needs through phone, computer and face-to-face interactions. Discretion with confidential information.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and commitment to guest satisfaction.
  • Completes all training and continuing education as required. Basic math skills; ability to use telephone and computer systems used at the hotel.
