Pharmacy Technician

Position Summary

• At least 16 years of age
• Licensure requirements vary by state
• Attention and focus: the ability to concentrate on a task without distraction
• Customer Service Orientation
• Effective communication skills, including active listening and clear verbal and written communication
• Mathematical reasoning: ability to use math to solve a problem such as calculating day’s supply of a prescription
• Problem resolution: ability to judge when something is wrong, recognize problems, and choose the best course of action in complex situations

• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical or customer service setting
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• PTCB National Certification

• Remaining upright on the feet for sustained periods, moving by foot to accomplish tasks
• Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers
• Extending arms, bending at waist; stooping requires full use of legs and back muscles
• Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs, exerting up to 30 lbs of force occasionally and/or 10 lbs frequently
• Visual acuity required for reading, transcribing, computer usage and visual inspection of small parts

High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred but Not Required.
