AboutThe Role
The Plant Superintendent—Mass Burn Unit—will oversee the facility’s Mass Burn unit to ensure safe, cost‑effective, and efficient operation. The role includes supervising, coaching, and developing personnel, documenting equipment conditions, and coordinating maintenance scheduling. Relocation support and a sign‑on bonus are available for qualified candidates.
Duties & Responsibilities- Supervise, coach, counsel, and provide daily direction to assigned personnel.
- Maintain leadership supporting company goals and opportunities for improvement.
- Organize work and collaborate across departments to ensure efficient daily operations of the Mass Burn unit.
- Manage, track, and implement technical training programs.
- Administer studies to improve plant operations, maintenance, or equipment and monitor effectiveness of plant manuals.
- Ensure clear communication between operations and maintenance teams for seamless shift transitions.
- Maintain emergency response readiness.
- Inspect machinery and oversee unit personnel performance.
- Adhere to environmental, health, safety procedures and permits.
- Perform other assignments as directed by the Facility and Operations Managers.
- High school diploma or GED required;
Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred. - Ten years of supervisory/managerial experience in an industrial power‑generating facility.
- ASME QRO Certification desired, or ability to qualify within six months of employment.
- Onsite Monday–Friday, with potential evenings, holidays, and weekends on a non‑routine basis.
- Deep understanding of power plant or industrial process operations.
- Knowledge of municipal solid waste combustion and material handling.
- Maintenance experience with rotating and electrical generation equipment.
- Electrical and controls systems knowledge desirable.
- Strong report writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to direct and collaborate on technical issue resolution.
- Leadership and motivation of teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Innovation mindset and adaptability.
- Walk, stand, sit, climb, lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Wear full‑face respirator.
- Work in various weather conditions.
The expected annual salary ranges from $115,264 to $190,357, subject to experience and location. Reworld stresses equitable pay and may adjust title/level/salary based on qualifications.
