Kauai Air Conditioning & Plumbing, a local mechanical contractor, is looking for a hard-working and motivated individual to join their team as a Project Manager. Candidates must have outstanding interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, be detailed oriented, computer literate, and possess problem-solving skills.

The primary function of the Project Manager is to oversee all HVAC and Plumbing installation projects from start to finish, managing budgets, timelines, resources, and client relations to ensure successful, safe, and compliant installations in residential settings, bridging the gap between operations and business goals. Key duties include planning, estimating, procurement, scheduling, quality control, safety, and project closeout. This position requires strong leadership, technical understanding, and the ability to effectively communicate with department manager, department foreman, and customers.

Additionally, this position needs to partner with the department manager to help grow the department through improving margins, increasing revenue, reducing costs, and delivering on customer satisfaction.

Job Functions
  • Work closely with the Comfort Advisors to improve the sales/operations relationship and build long-term relationships with key contacts with target customers,
  • Work closely with the Installation Department Manager and Installations Coordinator to ensure all projects are handled and run smoothly from start to finish.
  • Project Planning:
    Define clear scope, objectives, budget, and timelines.
  • Develop full-scale project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
  • Assess sites, determine labor/material needs, and assist in the preparation of bids.
  • Coordinate and manage project resources to include engineering, subcontractors, vendors, and technicians.
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, provide technical advice, and report project status.
  • Manage the execution of scope of work to include quality assurance, documenting project progress and executing RFI’s and change orders when necessary.
  • Project Closeout:
    Create and handle punch list items, as-builts, O&M manuals, invoicing, and warranty work.
  • Work with department manager to maintain optimum team staffing levels through labor forecasting, planning, and management.
  • Perform frequent jobsite visits with Foreman to ensure customer satisfaction, workmanship, overall quality assurance, and safety.
  • Follow up on any required warranty work and maintain contact with owner to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Manage all projects with minimal supervision.
  • Take responsibility for safety performance and program compliance.
