The Sales Manager is responsible for generating conference business from a local or national market, maximizing sales, developing potential markets and administering assigned responsibilities.

• Evaluate, solicit, and sell business to meet individual goals and overall departmental sales and profitability.
• Maintain an effective plan of correspondence and communication with all customers.
• Follow up on progress of booked business and key account performance, maintaining assigned accounts per sales minimum operating standards.
• Assist in developing and executing projects for assigned market areas to increase sales activity, volume and profit.
• Participate in sales meetings and industry-related organizations to represent the hotel and company.
• Develop a complete working knowledge of local competition.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Effective supervisory and communication skills.
• Well organized with strong problem-solving skills.
• High school education or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years convention services operations experience.
• Two years supervisory experience preferred.
