Patient Transport and Mobile Services Driver

Base Pay Range: $23.00/hr - $23.00/hr

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate company vehicles including a 14‑passenger ADA accessible Handi‑Van style bus, Mobile School Based Clinic Bus, Dental Clinic Van, Mobile Clinic Van, and other vehicles as needed.
  • Load and unload passengers and secure wheelchair passengers while maintaining safety and professionalism.
  • Analyze routes to ensure timely pick‑ups and drop‑offs.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports on accidents and incidents, maintain logs, perform data entry, appointment scheduling, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Build relationships with passengers, show compassion and empathy, and provide a positive transport experience.
  • Perform professional conduct when interacting with mobile services staff.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in medical passenger transportation.
  • Experience operating passenger‑carrying vehicles, including a 14‑passenger ADA Handi‑Van style bus, in compliance with federal, state, county and company regulations.
  • Current BLS/BCLS certification; biannual maintenance required.
  • OSHA training in Body Mechanics.
  • Experience in a health or human service setting preferred.
  • Training or willingness to learn defensive driving skills.
  • Certified Child Passenger Safety Seat Technician with maintained certification.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Current Standard Class Type 4 Hawaii State Driver’s License or CDL for vehicles ≥15,001 GVWR.
  • DOT Physical Exam and Medical Clearance throughout employment.
  • Current driver’s traffic abstract updated yearly.
  • Complete the Driver Improvement Program Class (DIP) with Hawaii Transportation Association as required during probation.
  • Ability to operate a vehicle for an extended period of time.
