A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Junior Health & Safety Advisor to join a leading construction and civil engineering business working across a range of exciting projects throughout Scotland.
This position would suit an ambitious Health & Safety professional looking to take the next step in their career, gain further site-based experience and develop within an established health and safety team.
You will receive support and mentoring from experienced health and safety professionals while gaining exposure to live construction and civil engineering projects.
As Junior Health & Safety Advisor, you will:
- Assist with regular site inspections and health and safety audits.
- Support Site Managers and Project Managers with health and safety matters.
- Assist with the preparation and review of risk assessments and method statements.
- Help monitor compliance with company procedures and legislation.
- Assist with toolbox talks, site briefings and safety campaigns.
- Support accident, incident and near-miss investigations.
- Help identify hazards and recommend suitable control measures.
- Assist with maintaining health and safety records and documentation.
- Monitor site standards and follow up on corrective actions.
- Develop strong relationships with site-based teams and subcontractors.
- Gain valuable experience across a range of construction and civil engineering projects.
The ideal Junior Health & Safety Advisor will have:
- Previous experience within construction, civil engineering or a related environment.
- A relevant Health & Safety qualification or working towards one.
- NEBOSH or IOSH qualification would be advantageous.
- A genuine interest in developing a long-term career in Health & Safety.
- Good understanding of basic health and safety principles.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach.
- The confidence to work with site teams and subcontractors.
- A full UK driving licence.
