Staff Nurse

Job Overview

Registered Band 5 Staff Nurse required to work within a busy community hospital (23/24 beds) and a day hospital. This permanent post is 29.6 hours per week.
As from 1/4/26 the full‑time working week across the agenda for change will reduce from 37 to 36 hours, with a corresponding increase in hourly rate.

• Provide high‑quality care to acutely ill patients in a community setting.
• Work autonomously and make clinical decisions on complex patients in partnership with GP staff.
• Prepare and implement nursing care plans, monitor patient progress and adjust care accordingly.
• Participate in shift rotations, including variable shifts and night duties.
• Document nursing care accurately and maintain patient records.

• Registered Nurse, Band 5, with valid nursing registration in the UK.
• Experience working independently in a community or hospital setting, preferably in a busy environment.
• Strong assessment and triage skills for complex patients.
• Ability to work flexible shift patterns and rotate to night shift.
• Good communication skills and commitment to patient safety.

UK right to work required. Post may require a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme check if assessed as a regulated role.
