Personal Assistant / Support Worker – Jedburgh
A lady living in Jedburgh is looking for a kind, understanding, and reliable Personal Assistant to provide emotional and psychological support.
The role focuses on providing emotional and psychological support, helping her build confidence, enjoy time within the local community, and develop a positive and trusting relationship.
This would suit someone who is dependable, empathetic, and enjoys providing calm and supportive companionship.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities- Offer emotional and psychological support through friendly conversation and companionship.
- Encourage and support the client to access the local community and take part in activities she enjoys.
- Build a positive and trusting relationship to help promote confidence and wellbeing.
- Provide gentle encouragement and reassurance when needed.
- Support the client with maintaining her home.
- Assist with meal preparation.
- Support with making appointments where required.
The successful candidate should be:
- Kind, empathetic, and patient.
- A good listener with a supportive and understanding nature.
- Reliable and trustworthy.
- Able to use initiative while being sensitive to the client’s needs and boundaries.
- Comfortable providing one-to-one support in a person’s home and community.
- Able to work positively as part of a small support team when required.
- Experience in emotional support, mental health, or care work.
- Previous experience providing one-to-one support.
- A genuine interest in supporting others to build confidence and independence.
Experience is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
Terms- Hours:
To be agreed with the employer.
- Working Pattern:
To be agreed, with some flexibility required.
- Rate of Pay: £14.05 per hour.
- Holiday Entitlement: 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata.
- Probationary Period: 6 months.
- Appointment:
Subject to satisfactory references and PVG / Disclosure Scotland check.
