Job Description & How to Apply Below

We’re looking for a skilled Finishing Operative to join our Finishing team, supporting the final stages of production for luxury knitted products finished with care, precision and pride.

At Alex Begg, our luxurious cashmere and knitwear products - crafted under the Begg & Co brand and for some of the world’s most prestigious fashion houses - are brought to life by generations of Scottish expertise. Our talented and diverse team is central to our success, and we believe that true creativity flourishes when everyone feels valued, included, and empowered to bring their authentic selves to work.

At Alex Begg, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment that contributes meaningfully to just and equitable communities across all social identities. We recognise the historical and ongoing systems that sustain inequality among systematically disadvantaged groups, and we are dedicated to adopting intentional plans to address these issues within our organisation and value chain.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys detailed, practical work and understands the importance of quality, consistency and presentation. You’ll support with stitching, labelling, buttons and buttonholing, helping to ensure every product is beautifully finished and ready to meet our exacting standards.

What you’ll be doing
  • Supporting the finishing of luxury knitted products through stitching, labelling, button attachment and buttonholing.
  • Working carefully with a variety of products, yarns and finishing requirements.
  • Following specification sheets and work instructions to complete tasks to the required standard.
  • Checking finished products for quality, accuracy and presentation.
  • Maintaining an organised and efficient workstation.
  • Working to team targets while supporting quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for
  • Previous experience in a sewing, stitching, garment finishing or textile production environment.
  • Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.
  • Good hand dexterity and confidence completing detailed practical tasks.
  • The ability to follow specification sheets, instructions and quality standards.
  • A positive, reliable and team-focused attitude.
  • A genuine interest in craftsmanship and beautifully made products.

You’ll be part of a skilled and supportive team, working with beautiful knitted products and contributing to the quality finish our customers expect. If you take pride in doing things properly and enjoy hands-on work where care, patience and precision matter, we’d love to hear from you.
