X is developing avionics for the Crew Starship and the Space
X Human Landing System to support Artemis lunar missions and future Mars exploration. This role contributes to high-reliability spacecraft electronics for Crew Starship vehicles and supports mission objectives in a fast-moving, world-class development environment.
- Develop high reliability spacecraft electronics for Crew Starship vehicles
- Serve as responsible engineer for flight hardware from conception through build, qualification, and flight operations
- Perform component selection, design analysis, schematic capture, prototyping, bring-up, debugging, circuit validation, and design documentation
- Assist with electrical architecture, product requirements, manufacturing planning, and production test
- Execute development and qualification testing campaigns to ensure reliable flight hardware
- Directly support NASA with deliverables for Crew Starship milestones
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure fielded systems are functional, manufacturable, and reliable
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- 1+ years of experience designing, building, or testing circuit boards or other electronics (research and extracurricular academic projects qualify)
- Passion for spaceflight and high-reliability electronics design
- System trades experience and understanding of how requirements tie hardware to larger systems
- Self-starter with ability to make hardware work with limited time/resources
- Experience designing signal conditioning/analog, digital circuits, and switching power converters
- Experience with schematic capture and board layout (Altium or Circuit Maker preferred)
- Familiarity with circuit simulation tools, lab equipment, and design-for-manufacture/pricing
- Ability to write software for test automation, data review, and design analysis (MATLAB or Python)
- Basic project management and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Extended hours and weekend work may be required to support critical project milestones
Pay ranges:
Electrical Engineer/Level I: $100,000 - $120,000 per year;
Electrical Engineer/Level II: $115,000 - $150,000 per year. Base salary is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on knowledge, education, and experience. Space
